Just a comment how ironic this situation is ! there're people that can come as turist but my wife cann't becuase she doesn't have a big income and is too young! even though she is married with a american citizen that being me of course!

i mean let me just laugh about this ! sorry i just needed to vent

This is really not uncommon...they'll have to prove that they have sufficient strong ties to their home country in order to get a tourist visa..being in your wife's situation, she has low income, and she's married to an American, they probably think that she just wants to stay in the US with you and not coming back.

Don't know what else to tell ya~~ Just be patient!!

Exactly. The key requirement of a tourist visa is that the applicant can prove non-immigrant intent ie. intention to retrun to their country and to NOT stay in the US. The very fact that your wife is married to an American citizen is the biggest reason she does not qualify -- because it's 100% clear she HAS immigrant intent.

Oh, I feel you. Its really ironical, that they would deny her to go to her own husband. But actually - did she tried?

And funniest parts, if she wants to get tourist visa, she has to prove what a ties she has to go back, but for k-1 she will have to prove vice versa. Silly. I didn't even applied for tourism visa, because of this reason and I thought its hopeless to spend money for this. Reason that I am just going to visit, but I will come back to finish all things here dont work. And what is low and high income depends, but they don't care. Even if I was ok in my home country, they have some standards about income or something, so they decide am I ok.

Oh, I feel you. Its really ironical, that they would deny her to go to her own husband. But actually - did she tried?

And funniest parts...

The funniest part is that a tourist applicant must pay a non-refundable "application fee" that was $100 per person when we tried to get them for my mom's relatives to visit us here in the USA several years ago. They got turned down, didn't get visas, and I was out $200 that I sent them for the visas. Ha...Ha...Ha! The joke was on me (and my relatives for wasting their time).

Speaking of irony...the morons in the US Senate (especially Senator Teddy Kennedy) proposed giving illegal aliens that lied their way into the USA as tourists an amnesty and permanent residency with a pathway to US citizenship.

So what is wrong with this picture? Too many things to even begin commenting on.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

yup. so the people who follow the rules will get squeezed even harder.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Yeah,

Rejecting a visiting Canadian is surely smart

Like if you wanted to break the rules and stay in the US illegally, you probably had your chance like a 100 times already...

 no sense in this

Rika

I tried to visit twice and got denied. It was a little humiliating to go through. I was honest and had all my paperwork to show them.

It didn't affect getting my Visa though. That is good.
