Question for everyone that recently filled for citizenship prior to receiving the Permanent Resident Card in the mail.

How did you all file without receiving approval of your I-751 first? One of the requirements to apply for citizenship is to provide a photocopy of both sides of your permanent Resident Card. Did you photocopy the conditional green card?

I'm curious.  Thanks.

Yes, you also can add a copy of your extension litter that’s what I did to be on the safe side.

Very Smart. I can see someone at USCIS giving an RFE because of an expired card that's why I was wondering.

Thanks and I appreciate your response..

I'm always over doing everything, so I took copies of everything I had. That means both the conditional greencard, the non-conditional greencard AND the extension letter. I'm normal like that. So yeah, I would suggest to take copies of what you have at the moment (conditional greencard and extension letter).

Ok so i am about to set another apointment with infopass now the lady over the phone my case was trasnfered to nbc and prnding investigation any one knows what it means ?

Not sure but I do know that because the nbc is not one of the typical centers that handles i-751 that their processing time is 8-10 months and since you are certain it is there you can prepare a file to find out why there hasn’t been an update.  Perhaps that’s the investigation? I was told this by a secondary immi agent over the phone. I have a letter that says my case is in nbc but apparently my case was transferred bk to vermont the day after and now shows up in two offices but the agent said he ckdnt submit it because it still shows in Vermont smh... so I’d say fill out that request since yours is in nbc.

As a good rule of thumb, make a cover letter with a checklist of all that was included in the packet. It is not uncommon to have some misplaced documents.

Did you include the following?

1. affidavits

2. Medical Coverage showing both your names

3. Auto insurance coverage showing both your names

4. Home or renters insurance coverage showing both your names

5. Life insurance showing both your names as beneficiaries of each other.

6. Lease agreements or deeds showing both your names

7. Joint bank accounts

8. Joint taxes

9. Photos of travel and memories together.

10. bank statement showing money flowing between your accounts.

11. Utility bills for your residence showing both your names.

Yes, I had included joint bank account statements and tax reruns but it says I have to provide the bank statements from the beginning and they need the W-2's for all those years.

I didn't have affidavits either and I received an RFE. I included two affidavits in my response. However, they were focusing more on the lack of a joint checking account in the RFE letter.
