Hello,

I came to the US and completed AOS. I got conditional 2 year Approved September 13th, 2019 and got ROC approved last month. I’ve went to the UK for 10 days I believe on my AP, 1 week on my GC- so less than a month in total.

I am petrified at these 3 year marriage denials although I don’t know their circumstances. My lawyer said I’m eligible to apply mid June for citizenship as I’m in same marriage and eligible due to being in same marriage using 3 year rule. My 1st conditional 2 year GC was issued 09/13/2019. Just to be clear I got approved for 10 year GC last month. Is this okay to apply for citizenship mid June? Thank you

so file 1 day later.

Thank you. That’s what they told me but I guess I read all these horror stories. But again I don’t know their situation. I know I’ve only been out of US since I got my AP and GC for 3/4 weeks max during these past few years. Thanks again!!!!

When did you begin to "live together in marital union?"  3 years prior to filing the N-400 is also a requirement as a recent post confirmed.  My husband is going to wait until three years since he entered the US and we started to live together, just to avoid a denial.  The 90 days prior to green card date is only one of the requirements.  Your call, but we have decided to play it safe and wait three more months, then file the day after the 3-year mark.

I would not worry about it.  As long as you meet all the requirements you should be fine.  My wife naturalized under the three year rule and she took trips of 10 weeks right after she got her GC, 8 weeks the next year and 9 weeks the 3rd year.  One suggestion, if you are filing electronically, wait 2-3 days after your window opens, there is an electronic dating thing that has caused issues for those that file immediately after the window opened.

Good Luck!
