As far as the Green Card there is no rule. Check timelines for your local USCIS office it will give you an idea. If you go around the forum, some people have received their card in as little as 3 months after being transferred to the CSC. Others are still waiting for it after 2 years, the decisions pending the FBI name check approval.

You can't set rules, it depends on your case, your name, who checks your file, etc. It takes a lot of patience.

08.2006: Entered with a B-2 visa.

07.06.07: Civil Wedding

07.17.2008 AOS approved with interview. It took 367 Days!

11.08.08: Big family wedding

09.18.09-10.03.09: First trip to France with Hubby

I-751

04.19.10: Package sent to Vermont

04.21.10: Delivered in Vermont

04.22.10: NOA date

04.23.10: Check cashed

05.17.10: Received biometrics appointment letter

06.07.10: Biometrics Appointment

Cecy, they came on a IR-1 visa, which means they get their Green Card mailed to them about 4 weeks after entering the USA. They already went through AOS through Direct Consular Filing.

On a IR1 visa it takes around 4 weeks more or less to receive the GC. Do not forget that the visa you have on your passport with the stamp from the POE is acting like a GC for 1 year  .

Dr LHA, do you know whether they send the green card to you or do they stamp your passport? My husband and I went to AOS interview and were approved. Thought his passport would have a stamp in it or maybe something's coming in mail or should we file out another form? I don't know what to do? Very confused. Any info will be appreciated.

I don't think your question is very related to this thread, as it would appear you filed for AOS inside the USA and were interviewed in Philadelphia. If that was indeed the case, then your husband most likely would not have got a passport stamp (I didn't in Philly, even though I asked), and his Green Card will come in the mail. There is no form to fill out now, just wait.

For the OP, you may want to drop by your local SSA office to inquire about your SSN if you don't receive it by the time your greencard comes in the mail.
