My fiance and I have begun the road to getting married. From what I've read, it's hard and time consuming but worth it in the end for obvious reasons.

We sent in the I-129F form probably just over a week ago. He hasn't received receipt of it yet, but we're waiting the 30 days they claimed to send the receipt out.

As for gathering evidence and what not, besides pictures of us together and emails, and other minor sources in our life (ie. playing mmo video games together and phone conversations), what else can be used?

If someone can point me to something I've missed on these forums, I would be incredibly grateful.

Many thanks

Daesy

All gathering documents (such as phone bills, photos, plane tickets etc) are supposed to be sent in with the I129f Application Form, not separately. I hope for your sake that this is what you did! Good Luck...now just wait!

Hello Daesyl,

welcome to visa journey. Don't worry about the NOA1 ( Notice of Action, your first receipt), it can take a little while depending on your Service Center too. Did they cash already your cheque? If you fill out your timeline you will get an idea how long you have to wait for NOA2 (that is the most import receipt).

Your evidence sounds good so far. Best evidences for met in person are flight tickets and stamps in passports. You already sent your form, did you include all the evidence? It sounds like you did not, so they may ask for it later.

Wish you a nice weekend

Karin

You'll need evidence of ongoing bonafide relationship at the interview. Sending such evidence with the I-129F for K1 is completely optional. What is not optional is proof of having met in person in the last two years.

The OP's question indicates what was missed, perhaps, was to read the guides. They are quite useful in determining what documentation to save and gather.

We had his lawyer assist with the I-129F form. He did not explain that we needed this proof prior to sending in this application. However I am aware that we'll need it come time for the interview.

We have emails, phone records, pictures, and i have flight tickets to chicago but not to kansas city where he resides.

I collected a few bits and pieces, but at the interview I showed a photo of us together and that was it.

By all means take all you have with you, but it is unlikely to be an issue.

I did not have e mail/phone records etc. I mainly phoned from work due to the time difference and it was free!

You all have been very helpful at putting my mind at ease. Thank you so much :)

Now my problem seems to be the timeline. I've begun it, but looking at some of the others' it seems there's been a delay on our I129F form. But I don't know for certain. I'll have him get with his lawyer for more info on that.

Thanks all.
