I applied for my spouse, I got approval for all the documents at nvc. But I received msg that I’m not meeting the income requirements. Can anyone tell me why?
FYI I added joint sponsor and they make more than 200k and according to income requirements it’s is more than enough to sponsor one person.

If your documents were all accepted & you were DQ'd I think you are probably fine.

I know someone else on the forum who submitted proof of assets to supplement the income requirement - all their documents were approved but they also got the same message saying "you don't meet the income requirement" - they brought up to date evidence of assets and a back up joint sponsor affidavit to the interview just in case but were never questioned about their original affidavit of support or asked to show further evidence.

This makes me think it could be an automated message that is sent to everyone not using their own income to cover the requirement but I'd be curious to hear from others who got the same message.

Overall though, if you are DQ'd already and awaiting an interview, I wouldn't stress too much , $200K should definitely be a sufficient sponsor - I'd just make sure to bring up to date evidence to the interview, perhaps the latest pay stubs from your joint sponsor.

Answer depends on the exact wording you are reading.  Please provide.

There are a number of possible reason you would receive this message. If somebody is using assets to qualify, retirement income, or other tax free source of income, you will get this message.  Still, the Consular Officer will make the decision.  If you are confident your current joint sponsor is well qualified, then ignore the message.

Hi there, I see that your case is electronic. Mine is through mail. How long did they take to respond on after sending your documents to NVC? Before When I would log in to ceac I would be able to see the choice of address or attorney, then the AOS, and the D260 but now since they received my documents I no longer see the AOS on the Home Screen. Would you happen to know what this means?

thank you,

SC

My question is if you become DQ and then receive a notice as such that you need to provide further proof of income, and you know you make enough, do you just take your income proof with you to your spouses interview at the embassy to show the consular officer?

Always good to take updated evidence of current income to the interview, with or without any message like the one you received.  If you're confident your joint sponsor qualifies, simply ignore the  message.

So if I am confident that I qualify with only my current income (since I just started making more money due to getting higher pay), without a joint sponsor, then I would simply just take updated evidence and ignore that message to the interview?
