Accepted Covid Tests When Entering US

Im flying to the US next week and would like to ask if anyone has used the Rapid Antigen Test and was able to enter with no problems? I have read the CDC guidelines and it says antigen test is accepted but are all antigen tests valid? 😅 This might have been asked before but I have not found enough threads for it.

(Anxious traveler who wants to make sure the preflight procedures will go smoothly )

Thank you!

Look at guidelines by your airline. Simple.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

I already did that a bunch of times. But  im wary of the antigen tests that is why I am asking for confirmation or reassurance. Thank you for the advice anyway

Why would you be "wary" of antigen tests?  They are not as reliable as PCR, this is true.  But as long as it meets the standards of your airline, and all countries involved, then there should be no problem.  Somehow I doubt an antigen test is good enough.  You should probably get a PCR test to avoid issues, if you have a choice.

I meant I was not sure if it is good enough. But yes I will probably get a PCR test just to be sure. Thank you!

I had a rapid antigen test for my flight back in Nov 2021.  No issues with the test itself, but I did have some issues with the format of the test results sheet.  Details in the post below --

My fiancée and her two kids just entered last Friday. They got rapid antigen swabs and had no issues.

RT-PCR results take too long and they are very expensive. I've heard of many people having false positive results and we had one also that nearly caused my fiancée to miss second day of medical and interview. Luckily we retested immediately and received a negative result.
