yes Nick is here with me just now and I know I'm lucky but we still face the same uncertainty. It is some comfort. He goes home to nebraska on 6th December. It's going to be hard being apart then after spending a full 6 months together and being used to knowing that he's here. In someways in that respect it may have been easier to have a couple of shorter trips. I just keep having the same dream in which my visa is declined.

hey, enjoy your time together! with a bit of luck you will already have your pack 3 in hand by the time Nick leaves!!!!!

Eric keeps telling me that we win either way, no matter how long the process takes, no matter when the wedding is, the important thing is, that you guys WILL BE MARRIED and you will be LIVING TOGETHER!!!!!! :)

i had a dream last night that i had my interview even before christmas (I have the flue and take heavy medication ;) )

I LOVE DREAMING GREAT DREAMS

I'm wanting (and has always been the plan) to head over 1st week in march. Initially that seemed no problem at all, now all we can do is hope. Well wedding not booked until 3rd may...surely that's do-able....probably just cursed it now...LOL..well if you don't laugh you cry.

Well gang, it looks like we have our first approval for a July filer.

It looks like a unique situation.

I think they still have a difficult process in front of them and I wish them well. :)

Wow :) I guess they may have been pushed through if the beneficiary were able to claim some kind of political asylum? But you're right - it's the government's job to be suspicious so lets hope they have a smooth ride from here on in :)

PS: I think you will find that if you are going through VSC your projected adjudication date moved up because of this quick approval. I moved up 4 days. I am not getting excited though. The next approvals will probably move it back again.

I am not even sure if they can get to the interview. Syria was talking about closing the border to people from Iraq. And as the petitioner said in her post, there is serious danger for the beneficiary if the wrong people discover his plans. And can you imagine trying to collect the needed documents?

It is such a mess over there. Hopefully the politicos can give them a hand.

I guess they deserve a bit of advance notice so to speak :) It means they may get their NOA2 before us but it might also mean they take longer to sort out all the stuff that could take some of us a few weeks :)

If by "sorting out all the stuff" you mean trying to stay alive and possibly crossing a closed border into Syria, then yeah, I think they deserve a little extra consideration. I don't begrudge them their fast approval for 1 second. Their situation sort of puts our worries about missing wedding dates and spending holidays apart into perspective doesn't it?

That last comment is a general comment and I direct it at myself as well as to everyone else. I hope no one will think I am attacking them.

no, Bill y Bella; you never come across as rude or personal, in fact I'm always impressed by your calm logic and rational approach :)

you're absolutely right, too... I just spent the day as a guest speaker in a school; the sixth formers were preparing for a Model UN day, where they'll all represent different countries... the three topics to be tabled were: 1. the position of women, 2. climate change and 3. people movements... I sat in on the talk about people movements, by a woman from Amnesty International, all about the reasons people move; why migrations happens, etc, and some of the examples were very sobering... I think it's always good to keep such things in perspective; whatEVER happens, we're so extremely fortunate; we're free, and relatively rich, and we have people who love us, and a bright future ahead; some people will never have all that in one place

doesn't mean we can't have a good whinge from time to time of course ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.
