Current annual income is calculated as follows:

If NOT self-employed, Most recent pay period income (before tax) multiplied times number of pay periods per year = Current annual income

Example: If last week's income was $1000, then current annual income is $52,000.

If you are self-employed, then information from last tax return would be used to determine current annual income.

NVC uses what you make now.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

$820 X 52 = $42,640.00  That is your CURRENT annual income.

Remember:  For immigration purposes, what you will make over the next 12 months (from today) is what counts.

No.  This is meant to help.  The I-864 is the most complicated form in the process for most people.  There are a dozen or so pages of instructions to follow.  You were just given an instruction to multiply weekly pay by 52, and you ignored the instruction and multiplied by 48 or by 4 then by 12.  There are 52 weeks in a year, not 48.

Note also that was an example.  Most people are paid every two weeks.  Are you really paid weekly, bi-weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly.  Determine that first and then multiply correctly.

First, actually download and become an A-Student of the I-864 instructions.  Doing so is the only way you'll know what you don't know and know what to ask.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
