I'm a US citizen trying to bring my old parents to US from europe.
Would you guys help me out with just few questions? I already petitioned for both (they are married and living together)

  1. Do I need one i-864 for each parent? Or can I use just ONE i-864 for both parents?

  2. It says I need to provide Court Records with translation,  Military Records with translation & Police Certificate(s) with translation.   I already have a Criminal records for my parents.    Is this the same as policy records?

  3. They haven't been in military. Do I have to have some paper showing they haven't ? Or is not sending anything in an indication that they have not been in military?

  4. Do you guys think I can make the payment for the i-864 combined or there has to be 2 checks?

Thanks a bunch!!

Each parent's case is a complete separate entity.  Each parent will require an individual I-864 as well as a separate set of all paperwork/evidence.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

It's so weird, when downloading i-864 from: https://www.uscis.gov/i-864
it says at the top right corner on the form that it expires "09/30/2021".  It his normal?  :S

That is the latest edition.

1 and 4. You will need a complete and separate set of petitions and forms for each parent.  However, at the NVC stage you can request to keep their applications together and make 1 payment for Affidavit of Support processing for the two (2) I-864s.  This is because the payment is not for the I-864 itself but for NVC to process the I-864 in the US (it would be free if the embassy processed the I-864).  You will have to pay for each DS-260 because each DS-260 requires payment.

Court records if applicable.  For Military, it looks like there is a record you can obtain to show they were registered to the draft board but were not drafted into service.  Police document called “Straffeattest”.

You may want to make sure your income/assets are adequate to provide for their health care in the US.  As you know, it is expensive, and they will not be eligible for Medicare.
