Question about Administrative Processing

My fiance was told after her K1 interview, which went very well, congratulations that her visa was approved and to pick up her passport in 2 weeks or so.

 

However now when I check the status of the case it says "administrative processing". Is this normal or is something wrong?

Completely normal.  All cases go through some form of AP.  However, some countries and some cases require a longer time.  

Be aware that a case is not approved until AFTER administrative processing is complete and the status changes to "Issued".  Good luck.

AP is normal.. At the time of the interview they typically don't have the background checks completed for the applicant.  They verbally state the applicant is "approved", but that is only in regards to the interview questions, the DS-160, and the documents required.

 

The background check is mandatory.  The duration and scope depends on the country of the applicant.  For most it is relatively quick.  For others, mainly Pakistan and MENA countries it is more involved and takes longer.

Which country are you going through? Your timelime states "Armenia"?
