No one can say for sure right now. Following other people's timelines will give you a better idea of when your IL will come.

Hi Everyone

 

I got my IR1 visa approved today, I’ll try and make this as detailed as possible

 

DQ Date - 7 July 2021

Interview Date - 4 April at 7:30 AM

 

I arrived at the consulate at 6.45 and was asked to wait across the street until 7 AM. I don’t think there is any advantage to arriving way before time as they won’t let you form a line before 7 AM anyways.

 

I went in after they asked me to present my passport and interview invite email (No phone or electronics allowed including smart watches). Got a token for an interview in English (the other languages that I saw people get interviewed in were Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Telugu and Marathi)

 

There are 16 different windows, and there’s plenty of space for you to sit down in the waiting room. There are toilets at the waiting area, I didn’t see drinking water anywhere (but I could’ve missed it). I was shortly called in to a window where the Indian officer asked me for my Passport, Interview letter, PCC, Birth Certificate and Marriage certificate.

 

30 odd mins later I was again called back at the said windows and this time around it was an American officer who asked me to take an oath about telling the truth. He was very to the point (No niceties or pleasantries as such), these were the questions he asked me

 

1. Who’s filed your petition - My wife

2. Tell me more about her - I mentioned where she lives, works and went to college

3. Asked me how old she is and how old was she when she moved to the US

4. Asked me if I have ever been to the US - I went there for college 

5. Asked me when was the last time I was in the US

6. Asked me if I have a tourist visa or an H1-b visa to the US - I said I don’t

7. Asked for our photographs - I was carrying two small albums (30 odd pages each) so they could be slid under the window. One of them was exclusively pictures from our wedding, the other one was from all the time that we’ve spent together as a couple (Our story, vacations, dates, events attended together). The officer categorically asked me for the latter - This whole thing lasted about 5-7 mins

 

That was it, he said he’s approving my visa and my passport will be in the mail in 3-4 days and asked me to pay the $220 immigrant fee once I receive my passport back, I can take up questions if anyone has any, this group has been incredibly helpful for both me and my wife and we really appreciate your help, here’s wishing you guys the very best! I have no idea, but you just have to follow the timeline of others. As far as I can tell they haven't reached to December yet.

No one can say for sure. As of now, some people DQ'd in Oct-Nov 2021 have received ILs while many have been skipped. NVC has slowed down the pace of issuing ILs for CR1/IR1s and there are rumors they might soon start focusing on student visas again. This might mean spouse visas will take a backseat. No one can guarantee a date or even the month when you might possibly get your interview. Be prepared to wait a few months at the least.

Checked to see anyone recently got IL for CR1/IR1? I just got DQ’d couple days ago I know it’s a few months wait but try to see or estimate wait time. 
By reading the previous post I see someone got DQ’d in November 5th and interview in April 28th. And this was almost a month ago. So just trying to see how far they come since.

Interview Letters are issued as per the serial number of Documentarily Qualified date.  What is your DQ date?
