Hi everyone,

My husband had his first appointment at the Embassy in El Salvador on April 7th, 2021. At this time the officer told him he couldn’t approved his visa until he received all necessary documents. He handed him a 221g green slip of paper. CEAC status read REFUSED.

We contacted the embassy on May 12, 2021 and was told it was still processing.

On May 19, 2021 we received an email stating my husband had to go to another interview on May 24, 2021 to continue his immigrant visa case.

On June 10, 2021 we received an email stating he was under administrative processing.

On September 14, 2021 we received another email stating his case was still under AP.

At the beginning of October we contacted our state senator to see if they can get additional information. We are still waiting a response.

Throughout that time CEAC status updated several times and continued saying REFUSED. But on August 12, 2021 it changed to READY.

Since than, it has updated several times, but went. back to refused on October 14, 2021.

Aug 12: READY

Aug 16: READY

Aug 28: READY

Sep 07: READY

Sep 29: READY

Oct 13: READY

Oct 14: REFUSED

Is anyone going through a similar situation? Did the status on the CEAC website changed like his? I am a bit confused as of why it changed back to refused.

There is nothing you can do more than wait. The status in CEAC is trick. Don’t base on that.

wait to see the final answer, maybe this is just the last step. Be patient and calm!!

I hope everything will be ok soon for you! Good luck

I assume your husband had his medical exam prior to the interview?  Unfortunately, his medical has likely expired and he will need to undergo another one to be granted a visa.  But wait for instructions from the embassy before scheduling his medical.

Thank you. We have and know there’re probably people that have waited longer, but the waiting game is stressful.

What documents were you missing ?

The VD confirmation, we still sent what the judge here in the USA provided for us. But he couldn’t get the confirmation from the USCIS in El Salvador because it was closed up until June for voluntary departure appointments.

Yes, he had it done in March. We thought about that as well, but haven’t received anything yet. We’re hoping they don’t ask for anything else.

I however found it weird that they updated his case 3 times this week back to back. The status hasn’t change, but it had never happened before.

It can be good they “updated”his case because I’m assuming it means a human looked at his file at least .

my state senator wrote back within two business days (well his office did) so I would definitely follow up again if it’s been a week. They have someone dedicated to constituent issues like this so I would keep reaching out to them. The embassy seems to be taking forever though processing cases
