How much time in advance before the test are you given the test date?

My wife is applying for naturalization (N-400).

Her application was processed and just last week she had her biometrics appointment.

She was sent home with a pamphlet titled "Preparing for the Naturalization Test - A Pocket Study Guide", and was told she would receive a notice in the mail with her date for the test.

We were just curious to know how much time in advance before the test does the notice come. Like, like if she were to start preparing for the test once the notice arrives, typically how much time would she have to prepare?

If it matters any -- she's being processed in the NYC.

Thanks!

Hi moderator. I accidentally posted in the wrong place.

Is there a way to move my post to the general "US Citizenship General Discussion" forum?

Thanks and sorry about that.

In the following example it was about a month: "You are hereby notified to appear for an interview..." "you will be tested on your knowledge of the government and history of the United States..."

It all depends on processing time & a little luck in my opinion but what i did was a downloaded an app from uscis to practice the civic questions and i just did it a few times a per day until i learned them all except for the questions that pertain to your specific  state.

I understand your approach. I just don't thinks she'll need more than a month to study for this, or 6 weeks tops. And according to a couple of Google search results, it looks as though the interview and test are usually scheduled anywhere between 5 to 10 months after the biometrics. So I just don't see much point in starting to study for the test now, when it could be over half a year before she needs to take it.

You will get Minimum of Four weeks from the date of your biomatric and Test is self is pretty easy out 10 question you just need to answer 6 correctly. And then there will be a test of reading and writing altogether the test would be 5 minutes max. The rest of the interview will be what is in your file. I got Naturalized on September 16. All the best to your wife.
