The embassy loaded a bunch of dates for IR1/CR1 about 30 mins ago. I was able to snag one for Feb 14.

Congrats on the interview schedule!  That's a new process.  As recently as Nov 2021, USEM did not allow IR visa applicants to schedule their own interviews.  The calendar page wouldn't even show up.

New to this site and I'm same case as most of you. I petitioned(IR5) for both of my parents back in 2019. PD July 2019 and DQ Nov 2020. I've been waiting since then and finally decided to take some actions.

Here are the recent updates:

1/25/2022 - Requested Expedite process in the email.

1/26/2022 - Request under review

1/27/2022 - US embassy accepted the expedited processing

1/28/2022 - Received cancellation of interview(Previous emailed said to ignore this)

1/31/2022 - Expedited process approved

Now my questions are ....

1. What's next on this? Will I get another email saying about the interview date?

2. I'm reading here that other scheduling the interview by themselves? Will that be the same case for me?

3. Both of my parents are 60 and 61 years old. Do I need Health insurance for them before they arrive here?

4. I'm reading that CFO is not required for 60 and above just need to register? How's that work? How about for PDOS?

5. Is it a good idea to do the Medical(St. Luke) now while waiting for the interview date?

6. I noticed a changed of status in ceac website .. what's the meaning of this?

I noticed in ceac website. My petition is now in Manila(previously at NVC)

and also when I checked https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

It's now say "In Transit: Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.". but I haven't got any interview date.

So I checked my status today and it's now "Ready". So without registering to cgi and scheduling the interview by myself ... Will USEM still contact me and give me interview schedule? Or this is not a thing anymore and everything need to be done by yourself on the cgi? This is B.S. and making it hard for everyone. What a shitty system they have.

I still need to ask my parents to do medical ... maybe when they cleared that then I'm gonna register on cgi and monitor for open schedules.

Since you are approved for expedite, you will

need to schedule your parents for interview via cgi. Embassy right now is only scheduling cases that are still at NVC. You can register now or later whichever you prefer.

1. No. Since you are approved for expedite, you will need to self schedule via cgi. Don’t wait like what I did. My parents were approved for expedite since Oct 25, thinking that embassy will send me Interview Date, until I found the fb group.

2. Yes, since you are also expedite.

3. Not sure, but I believe when they arrived in the US.

4. Seniors are exempted from the CFO training, you just need to pay which is now lowered beginning Feb 1st. Then they will email you a temporary certificate which is valid to use upon travel to US.

5. 50-50 chances.  I had my parents do it prior to getting ID. Because I was afraid they will have to undergo sputum culture which can take up to 2 months for the results, luckily they were both cleared. So now that I got ID, all good now.

6. They are forwarding your case to embassy. Once they status shows READY, then you can start securing an appointment by creating an account on cgi website.

Hope these help.

Thanks for response kabayan .... I think it's a good idea to do the Medical now before I schedule an Interview for them. So I can just ask my parents to show the DS-260 on SLEC/Medical? So without the actual ID confirmation? Do you also know if we can pay Medical on SLEC on the same day?

Thanks again!!!

Yes, register them on SLEC website and an email confirmation with required documents that they need to bring on their medical. Ignore the Interview letter, just show DS 260. Yes you can pay on the day of medical.
