Hi everyone,

We received a letter pertaining to cancellation of our application for immigrant visa and any petition but we were already in the advanced stage of processing ie medical (waiting for results) and interview remaining until Covid lockdown measures happened.

Anyone with the same experience? We already sent a letter to the embassy outlining what happened but haven't heard anything from them. Any insight or help would be appreciated.

We need to see the exact wording of the letter, please.

That letter does not state your visa has been canceled.   It states IF you DO NOT apply for your immigrant visa WITHIN ONE YEAR ...

Did you complete the online immigrant visa application (DS-260 this should have been completed during the NVC stage) ?   If yes ... then you have met the requirement.

So in April 2020, you had your medical, but did not have the actual Embassy interview.  Did you reach out to the embassy to reschedule or were you waiting for them to reschedule the interview for you?  I know that if the embassy has the packet you can request an expedited interview.....
