The only way to find out is to apply for the jobs you are interested in. I think your 6 years of experience in Hong Kong will work in your favor, especially if you can provide contact information of your former supervisor as a reference.

The only thing you can do is apply as soon as you are eligible to start working.

My experience so far has been that I had to start building my career from scratch again here.. I have been here for 2 years now and slowly starting to climb the ladder again.

It's possible, although you may have to start at a lower tier than your former position in your home country.

 

If you are multilingual, you may have better luck applying for relationship manager positions at banks whose clients speak Cantonese / have ancestral roots in Hong Kong. I imagine many large cities have such areas.
