Hello everyone I'm wondering if you can point me in the right direction, (I've looked and it seems to be a lot and I've looked to the point where I'm confused now) haha

I'm in the middle of AOS from a K1 visa

I have been approached by my college, unexpectedly, for a paid student tutor position due to how well I did in AP and I'd really love to take it.

They are aware that I need my EAD and my SSN so I told them I'd be investigating the Expedited route and get back to them.

I have seen that yes you can expedite with a job offer and having a written offer is best to submit. Would a letter explaining my reasoning be beneficial as well?

I'm wondering what category I would claim this under? (Financial loss is kinda what I'm thinking ) My reasoning is:

My savings are definitely dwindling haha with school, but my husband does make enough to cover us, just not for school as well.

If I am unable to work I couldn't continue school which is coming up close to applying to nursing school to actually get a career going.

If a letter is beneficial what would be the best way to go about writing it?

What other evidence do you think would be helpful? (print outs of my savings account back home? etc)

Thanks in advance guys I really appreciate your help with this one and your time.

Hi there,

Please see below. Is there really severe financial loss? Your husband is still working and you knew that you would not be able to work while the AOS/I-765 is pending.

Yes I'm well aware I wasn't able to work. I was and still am prepared to wait too.

I just got approached by the school on Friday and I love helping people learn and thought it might be a good opportunity so I'm exploring the option.

I'll check out the link thank you.

Yeah you can try just like the rest of us lol. Worst-case is they say no. My understanding is you have to call them. There are lots of expedited request topics here that I read that could help. Everyone is asking for it and not sure of the success rate in numbers. Good luck.

Thanks again, I’m seeing it a lot as well and don’t think I have a great shot at it. Definitely read so much that I think it just got too overwhelming about the whole process. Haha

cheers and thanks again.

You can go ahead and try for it as long as you have completed bio-metrics for your AOS. Takes at least a month from call to completion. When I requested it for my wife I used financial hardship also. She needed an emergency appendectomy a few months after arriving here ( She is fine, and I had her on my insurance the day we married) but I still had a 60k Hospital bill for evidence of financial hardship and got approved right away.

You call and request the expedite, then about 3-4 weeks later you should get a letter with the Fax number and a reference number to include with your evidence so it gets to the officer doing the review. The day after I faxed the evidence the card was being produced. So once you get the evidence to them, the decision is quick. This was a few years ago now, but my friends just did an expedite, and they have said the experience is similar still, and they applied a month ago.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

I recommend expediting. What I encountered three times personally: even when they deny officially, but you really have a REAL urgent matter which does not fall into one of the expedite category but is urgent from human prospective, they expedite it anyway, but unofficially. I was able to get approval of I-129F (took 1.5 months), interview, and AP/EAD combo. All got extra quick, way ahead of average. Just do it. Even if your reason does not fall in legal expedite criteria.

Oh gosh I'm so sorry your wife was in that situation I'm glad it all worked out!

Luckily I got my Biometrics done August 10th.

Do you think a print out of tuition costs would suffice as evidence of how much this will all cost? I'm not eligible for student loans at this time but in your opinion would this be good to include?

Thanks for the advice I'm definitely going for it. I just got a bill for my tuition 🤪 out of state and out of district fees hahaha and unfortunately I'm not eligible for student loans yet 🤦‍♀️

First step is to file the request. I just talked to my friend in San Diego, and she is coming up on the 1 month mark and hasn't received the request for evidence yet. I would request the expedite as soon as possible, and you will have a month at least to gather evidence for financial hardship. She requested on July 29th,2021, so coming up on a month this week. When I did mine I just filed the hospital bill summary as it was only 2-3 pages. The actual bill was 65 pages long

Perfect thank you, I'll try tomorrow. I know phoning is impossible right now but I heard you can still talk to an agent online live.

Is this what your friend did or did she end up getting through on the phone?

She got thru on the phone actually. Did it the same day she did bio metric appointment. that was at 1pm, and as soon as she left the office she called on the drive home and got the request submitted. She is racing against the clock because her new spouse is transferring to Canada for work, and she needs at the minimum AP to be able to leave and get the Canadian visa in order to travel together.

If I have any questions in the future about the EAD Expedite process will it be okay to message you directly?
