Release Date
08/12/2021

Beginning Aug. 12, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is temporarily extending the validity period for Form I-693, Report of Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, from two years to now four years due to COVID-19-related delays in processing.

USCIS may consider a completed Form I-693 as valid if:

  • A decision on the applicant’s Form I-485 is issued on or before Sept. 30, 2021.

Somewhat related to this is that USCIS through Twitter today has been urging EB I-485 petitioners to submit I-693s now versus waiting for an RFE.  This is because USCIS is trying to approve a bench of green cards before a deadline later this year.

In addition USCIS is across the board now recommending all classes of I-485 petitioners to submit I-693s with the I-485:

Good. Also the extension letter that you receive after submitting roc provides an extension of 24 months. All good, but can we do us a favor and get rid of ROC?
