Yesterday, I received 2 NOA1 for my wife's AOS package. We were missing the third one. Today, I received a letter in the mail that states the below message.

I paid with 1 credit card authorization, the correct fee of $1225 and the money has been successfully taken out of my account. I have received 3 separate texts regarding the receipt notice of the forms we filed. I DID not pay anything extra. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

notice type: Rejection Notice Notice date:

Recently, you submitted an application for immigration benefits. That form was submitted with an extra remittance that is not required to process your application, your check is being returned to you with this notice. No additional action by you is required at this time.

Please be sure to complete the application fully, submit the appropriate fees, and include all required supporting documentation.

if you have any questions about possible immigration benefits, filing information,or USCIS forms please call the USCIS

Yeah, it's probably the I-131. You can resubmit just Form I-131 for free at the same address. Include a photocopy of the I-485 receipt notice. https://www.uscis.gov/i-485

Filing Forms I-765 and I-131 with Form I-485

If you submit Form I-485 and pay the required fee, you do not have to pay an additional fee to also file Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, and/or Form I-131, Application for Travel Document, for advance parole. You may submit these forms together. If you choose not to file Form I-765 and/or Form I-131 with your Form I-485, then you must submit a copy of your I-797C, Notice of Action, (also known as your receipt) as evidence that you filed Form I-485.

But I did not submit any payment info whatsoever on that form, and I have text confirmation of the receipt of it. So im super confused.

The case tracker I have does not show rejected either, it says they have received the case and are sending out the form on how they'll process it. 🤔

The Lockbox sometimes makes mistake.

Understood but NOA1 is the definitive proof of successful filing. Since you didn't receive NOA1 for I-131 then filing it again is a safe bet.

This message means that they believe you sent an extra payment that wasn't needed, so they simply returned it to you. I don't see anywhere in your post that any of the petitions were actually rejected (only the extra payment was rejected, that's why you don't see on the notice which form/petition was rejected, as none was rejected).

Just like the notice says, there's nothing else you need to do, all three petitions were accepted. If one or more petitions/forms were actually rejected, the notice would tell you to refile - that's not necessary in your case since nothing was rejected (other than the extra payment). So you're all good. "No additional action by you is required".

Sometimes mail get lost or delayed, which is likely the case with your missing NOA1. The NOA1 is not important but you can request for them to send you a new one if it still hasn't showed up after 30 days.

Well I received paper NOA1 for i485 and i765 so I can only assume it's for the other one but the rejection does not list a case type.

Did you get the application back?  If you didn't,  tbe NOA is an error
