Hi, guys.  I'm trying to help a friend of mine with his K-1 visa process.  His fiance' in Indonesia needs help obtaining a police clearance from Singapore, but everything I've seen said it could take 6 months to process and that there's no guarantee they would even process it.

She doesn't have 6 months.  Her DS-160 was recently submitted.

She has 6 months, or more.  She can attend her interview and explain the situation about the PCC from Singapore, backed up by whatever official information about the 6 month processing time.  The embassy will put her status in AP until they receive the PCC.

That is not ideal.  Is there a way for your friend's fiance to travel to Singapore and get the PCC in person?

Also, have your friend join VJ.  He can post questions directly and, when his fiance successfully gets her K1 and arrives in the US, he can get some valuable information about the next steps (SSN, marriage, AOS, ROC, etc.)

I would suggest that it *seems* complicated because of the way that they word their requirements and processes, but actually is quite straightforward (though done in stages).

We just successfully completed the entire process with Singapore Police. We made the online Appeal request first, provided appropriate information and documentation as to why the request was being made and it was approved in an efficient manner. We did walk-in to Hong Kong Police to get fingerprinted on Singapore Police's official form. We then used that approval to submit the CoC itself and again it was quite straightforward. The longest part of the process was related to mail delivery because the international transport of mail can be impacted by ongoing logistics impact from COVID (so I think it took about a week to get to the Police once we mailed off the hardcopy documentation).

Don't expect a rejection as long as the required documentation can be provided. We used an old tax document to demonstrate the previous work/residency in SG.

**Edited to note that we were done in under a month, start to finish. I think more like 3 weeks.
