K1 Visa Wife and k3 Visa Kid

Filling out I-485 for the child.  I presume the parent (principal applicant) is the one who will sign this document, not a 5 year old kid?

If he has only one parent (the principal applicant), do I put N/A in the area for the other parent?  Only one parent is listed on his birth certificate.

Thank you for any information.

For the K-2, the parent will sign for a minor under 14. https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-1-part-b-chapter-2

Any information that is not known about the other parent would be "Unknown"

And here is some info on filing AOS for a K-2 >

Does the mother really not know who her child's father is?  If she actually knows who the father is, write his name on the I-485 even if he is not listed on the birth certificate.  All other details about the father can be listed as "Unknown" if the mother truly does not know.

N/A would only be appropriate if the birth was a result of a miraculous conception.

YMMV
