I finally submitted my N400 yesterday! When I submitted, it said estimate 16 months waiting time. Woke up this morning, case was updated to under actively review and estimate time changed to 10 months😂😂😂

I will be applying next month and I'm already dreading the process. Our removal of conditions is coming up on 1 year with no movement. Why do they make this process so long? Also I've been reading the Sacramento field office doesn't do name changes so I'll have to do that as well after. Such a painful process this is

Same here, removal of condition didn’t change at all and I’m over 1 year now. Hopefully the N-400 will force some movement on the removal of condition. Luckily this is the last step of the immigration so nobody need to suffer again.

I didn’t know that Sacramento doesn’t do name change… I was debating if I should update my name or not during citizenship process, now it’s easy, I can’t even if I want lol

I-485/765/131:

06/01/2018 - Sent AOS/EAD/AP through UPS, received NOA1 on 6/11. Received bio appointment on 6/15 and completed on scheduled date 6/29.

07/06/2018 - Submitted EAD expedite request with job offer, reason was financial loss. Received EAD/AP combo card on 08/04. AOS changed to 'Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview' on 7/24.

07/23/2019 - AOS interview was scheduled on 8/27. In the interview USCIS can't make decision because original K1 file got split up somewhere.

11/25/2019 - AOS got approved, received the actual card in mail on 12/2.

I-751:

09/05/2021 - Sent ROC through FedEx, delivered on 9/7, received message e-notification on 9/9 stated case was received, check is cashed on 9/10, NOA1 in mailbox on 9/13.

10/28/2021 - Fingerprints have been taken (Reuse).

01/17/2023 -  Case was transferred To Another Office

01/26/2023 - Case Was Approved

N-400:

08/28/2022 - Submitted N-400 online, NOA1 on 08/29/2022, with estimate time 10 months for decision. Biometrics is reused.

11/23/2022 - Interview was scheduled on 1/11/2023, it was a combo interview for I751/N400. Both cases were verbally approved. System hasn't been updated yet.

01/26/2023 - Form N-400 recommended to be approved --> Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

02/06/2023 -  Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed, Oath on 2/22

02/22/2023 - Oath Ceremony, applied passport the same day, with estimated receiving date in middle of May. ALL DONE!!

I'm going to request it still. There's comments on here stating that the Sacramento field office doesn't allow.. But that may be in certain situations. So I'll still try.

No updates? I will be applying in 4 days. From what I've been reading it looks like 10-12 month wait. There's a lady in this thread that got hers in 3-4 months. Lucky her

Yes I'm pretty excited about it, but I got about 6 weeks' time to prepare so I'd better start on the civic test ...

I've been watching the progress for the VJers that is in Sacramento office, I think the processing time is trending much better, it was pretty consistent as 6-7 months, the most recent ones (myself included) are ~5 months from the NOA1 to interview. This is a good sign and hopefully it turns to ~4 months processing timing when it's your turn.

I'll try to change name too in the office, will let you know if it works or not.

Good luck!

Any Sacramento filers recently have their interview? If so how did it go

Did the n400 interview in May, a combo i751/n400 interview, and no name change Sacramento field office did not accommodate our name change request. The interviewing officer indicated the Sacramento field offices do not support name change requests during naturalization and updated our n400 application and removed the name change request during our interview.

The we, petitioner and spouse, were admitted into the field office, we waited 45 minutes, and we were both called in to the combo interview. The IO was cordial and friendly throughout the interviews, the petitioner and spouse remained throughout i751 and n400 interview and test.

My interview went very well. The officer was a lady, super nice/sweet/chill, I waited 50 mins and then did the combo interview (have a pending 751). Questions were very simple, like how we meet, where do we live etc., and civic test was the most basic ones too, like when do we celebrate the Independence Day, etc.

Both cases were approved but it sounds like it’ll take some time to take effective in system, so I should expect a February oath at the earliest.

I asked the name change, and so far they don’t take any name change, maybe sometime in the future.

Good luck to you too!!!
