Hi all, I've read topics regarding the question 38. It seems like people go either way with their answer. If you go with "intend" for the K1, what do you write in the explanation? The example they gave sounds like maybe a visitor or an employee

You're right. It doesn't really apply to K-1. I followed the example shown on the page, USCIS Example Immigration Forms, here on the VJ forum: USCIS Example Immigration Forms - US Immigration Forms - VisaJourney

They left the checkboxes blank 😭 I did copy the phrase though. Thank you!

And since it doesn't really apply to K-1s, it doesn't actually matter what you answer.

/this gets asked about a lot

yes I know! I read through a couple of them. For anyone wondering in the future, I have personally decided to go with:

Check: Intend to support

More info: N/A (Filing I-129F for my fiance to begin K1 visa process for permanent residence). Fiance will be staying at petitioner's residence indefinitely.

Bear in mind that the question isn't 'do you intend to support'...it's 'do you intend to make specific contributions'. Ie, like a weekly wage for example.

Realistically, as a K1, the answer almost certainly isn't yes. We ticked 'do not intend' and wrote 'N/A - K1'. However, I don't think it's massively important which one you tick, as long as you write the explanation next to it.
