I had my interview today. I only had to wait 15 min and asked 5 questions which took 4 or 5 minutes.

The consulate officer didnt find one of the police certificates, but then I told her the position and then she found it, and briefly checked.

She told me she intend to approve it. I asked her what intend to approve means, she said she will take a week to check my application but 99% chance its okay. Then she gave me a very firm timeline: 1 week for checking and 1 week for printing visa on passport.

I didnt ask her anything else becase of the 99%. It sounded good then, but the person before me got approval on the spot and told it will be issued. This difference made me worry.

Has anyone seen this kind of answers before? Could it be because the officer didnt take enough time to look through the documents (the police cert).
Typical wait time is like 1h, not 15 min like my case.

It sounds to me like they just need additional processing time.  Think of it like a random TSA check at the airport.  No reason, you were just chosen.  If and a big IF you do receive it back not approved, then you can see what they want.  But if my fiancée was told that, I would reassure her that we would check in a couple weeks!  Take a deep breath and slowly let it out.  You are at an excellent step of the process.

I was told the same on my interview, and it drove me nuts until I got my visa. So it’s stressful. Also the status of the application first changed to “refused” right after the interview. Which looks to be normal case.. the status changed to “application received” after two days, and after two more days to “visa issued”.

I received my visa one week after the interview.

I think they say “intend to approve” because they still have to look closer on documents you just brought on the day of interview..
so try not to go too crazy, I was told the same thing and I got my visa without any troubles! Good luck!

There is no 'on the spot' approval for visas.  Visas are not issued same-day, and have not been for a very long time.

Every visa application goes through AP, whether that is days or years.

Did she keep your passport?

Yes she did! And she gave me a firm timeline: 1 week for additional processing, and 1 week for printing.

Then, I wouldn't worry.  I would expect a similar timeline for the person who went before you as well.   Good luck, and keep us posted!

Good news. My visa is issued after 4 days. However I didn't hear a word about visa being sent out to me so I think they only began printing it just now.
