Civics test during COVID-19 pandemic

I'm sure this has been asked about a million times before but I wasn't able to find the answer to this.

Are civics exams asked verbally or on a tablet? And if they're on a tablet, are they multiple choice?

At my interview in 2017, the questions were on a sheet of paper.

 

I don't recall if they were multiple choice or not. My interview was 4 hours late, and I spent the 4 hours practicing my civics examination using the USCIS's official civics test app. By that time I knew every possible question and answer.

 

I suggest you do the same.

Mine were verbal and answered verbally, in late 2019 but same for my husband who interviewed in Jan this year. No multiple choice, you have to know the answer.

 

the reading and writing part of the test was on a tablet.

Thank you for the answers. But I was asking about the test during the pandemic. I'm wondering what people who have had their interviews recently have experienced.

Um, I said my husband had his test in January this year, that was in the pandemic.

Verbal questions and answers and tablet for reading/writing, as of my interview in Feb 2021. No multiple choice.

The practice test actually specifies the real test is not multiple choice , I don’t recall if that is clearly stated anywhere else.

What To Expect During The Real Test

The actual civics test is NOT a multiple choice test. During the naturalization interview, a USCIS officer will ask you up to 10 questions from the list of 100 questions in English. You must answer correctly 6 of the 10 questions to pass the civics test.
