If this helps anyone - here is our updated timeline for my husband's parents:

 

Applied: February 2nd, 2021 

Actively reviewing your case: February 3rd, 2021 / May 10th, 2021

Approved: May 11th, 2021

NVC Case Creation: May 14th, 2021

IV/AOS Fees Paid: May 15th, 2021

Submitted Documents to NVC: June 7th, 2021

Documentarily Qualified: July 23rd, 2021

 

Now the wait begins! Hope everyone is moving along speedily!

Wow that was fast!  Congratulations!    We filed an online online petition at the beginning of February and so far the last "touched" was on February 3rd, 2021.

Another update! We were notified that my husband's father was scheduled for an interview on November 3rd. Hoping his mother's appointment will follow shortly!

 

Does anyone know if interviews for both parents are typically linked and scheduled for the same day/time?

She has to enter before the visa expires. That date is usually 6 months from the date she does the medical exam.

 

What is she going to do next year in winter? If you don’t live somewhere warm she needs to deal with it sooner or later.

you are absolutely right!

 I have one more question though, you said that her visa starts from the date she gets the medical exam! Doesnt her visa starts when she actually passes the interview?

because as far as i know she will need to get her medical before the interview! Right?

Visa expiration date is based on the date of the medical exam, not the interview date.

Hey I know this is the wrong year.... but my mom submitted an I-130 for her brother in Feb 7, 2013. We still haven't heard anything except for the first NOA1 that the case was received. I tried to submit an inquiry but they said it's within normal processing time. I'm not familiar with the whole process, since I'm just trying to help my mom out. Can anyone provide me with more insight?

Just a quick update here that the case was approved today (From Texas Service Center).

 

My online status changed to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS", but in the documents tab, there is the approval notice.  Very strange!!!

 

Now the wait begins for the NVC and the US consulate.

 

Please share your timing as you go through this so we can get a sense of how this goes from the DoS perspective.

What service center handles the case?  Where does the brother live (country)?
