Interview was completed in Charleston on Wednesday and everything went well. About 30 minutes of the typical questions discussed on here. At the end of the interview the officer said that he was approving our case and she would have the card in a couple weeks. He then also said he didn’t do computer updates until on Friday's. Well it’s now Saturday and no approved status yet. Should i be worried?  Is it normal to say approved and wait days to click a button saying so?

There is no indication that there is any problem.....Patience is still the key.   Stop worrying.

I guess poor choice of words. I’m just frustrated he says it’s approved and have heard nothing still. It’s been a long year

First of all, congratulations.

Relax, I also had the interview in Charleston few weeks ago, and the officer gave me a certain day, middle of the week, when it would be updated, after the case was approved towards the end of the interview. It did update post lunch on the day I was told, and then the system kept updating very frequently and card was delivered to me in one week from the interview date. So may be a small delay due to the system/manual delay, but as the officer said approved, you are not going to see any other result. Try to breathe and start working on whatever your next plans are - getting ready for work, or travel plans etc.

I started my paperwork in April last year. USCIS is doing a good job, in managing cases. They are humans too.

You are welcome!! I can understand your anxiety, but just few more days of wait, and you will have the card in your hand :)
