Since you filed your I-751 on time, your status as an LPR continues after your green card expires.

edit: I see the note about your DL

you will have to make an appointment with USCIS to get an i-551 stamp on your passport and use that to renew your DL

Unfortunately, receipts and extension letters are taking several weeks during the pandemic.  Even after your green card expires, your status as a legal resident does not expire.  Only the evidence of your status expires.  You will likely need your extension letter or a stamp in your passport to renew your driver's license.

I’m not sure why you cannot drive to work.

Because his/her driver license expires the same day as the green card.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I can make appointment with USCIS to get stamped I-551 even I've not received any letter or receipt after I-751 submission? by the way, here what I got letter from DMV.

1- Bring this letter, along with your MN license, permit, or ID card, to a driver's license renewal office.

2- Bring a new or extended residency document, or an INS receipt of application for extension of legal presence status.

3- Complete application.
