Hi guys,

my mother in law has been planning to visit here in the US from the Philippines with a Tourist visa. My husband and I aren’t sure if tourist visas are allowed to enter the country. But if they are allowed, does anyone know the requirements and rules if she is ever allowed to enter. Thank you so much.

To my knowledge as long as she is not coming from or transiting through a country listed in in the travel ban countries due to Covid she should be fine.  I don’t recall the Philippines being listed so she should be fine.

Good Luck!

Philippines open up tourism for their people last month, all she needs is to book a flight. Check with the particular airlines if they have any protocols on flying. I assume she is head to California. PAL would be her best choice of airlines.

For PH exit requirements, check with the airline.  Some airlines require COVID test even if it is not required at the destination country.  I assume she'll be taking a trans-Pacific flight.  Make sure she does NOT transit through mainland China.

For US entry, minimum requirement is her passport with US tourist visa.  Then check the testing/quarantine requirements for her destination state for out-of-state travelers.  Lastly, not required but highly recommended, bring proof of ties to the PH, like employment letter and approved leave notice.
