Hello,

We've received an interview letter with the interview date from NVC but the status still "In Transit" I emailed the U.S Embassy to but they said that they haven't received the Approved Petitions yet. How could they give an interview date without receiving the case file?

How long does it normally take to change from "In Transit" to "Ready" ?

Please advise...

Thank you in advance

Because NVC schedules the interview.......not the consulate.   NVC then sends the case file to the consulate after scheduling the interview......

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Thank you for the information. I've always thought The Embassy would have to be the one that schedule it and give it to NVC to relay the information. Is that why the Embassy isn't aware of the case yet?

1.  Case is DQ'd by NVC

2.  Case enters interview queue at NVC

3.  Consulate notifies NVC of available dates for interviews for next month

4.  NVC then schedules interviews for cases at the front of the queue for that consulate

5.  NVC then sends case to Consulate

I appreciate the clarification!

It's actually for my daughter, My wife interview date is scheduled for December 17th and My 7 month daughter scheduled for January 15th. We're trying to get my daughter to be interviewed at the same time on Dec 17th but the Embassy still haven't received the files yet.

I would contact the consulate and ask them to interview both at the same time.  Once an interview has been scheduled by NVC, then the consulate can reschedule.

We emailed the embassy requesting to be interview at the same time but they said they haven't received the case files yet. I will maybe try calling them instead but they're very hard to reach over the phone

Wait until they have the files.  They already told you they can't do anything until they do.
