Hi all!

there is too much condtradiction information on the internet and I am a bit confused. Any current helpful links or information will be highly appreciated.

I am a LPR and trying to have my mom visit from The Republic of Georgia in January. She already has B2 visa and visited early 2019. Is there any restrictions on her? We intend to book her ticket for 1/5/2020 if she is allowed to travel.

Thanks in advance!

As of right now, she can neither enter nor transit through a travel-banned country within 14 days of US entry.  She is not exempt from those travel restrictions.

There is no restriction on tourists visiting the US as a general rule. There may be restrictions:

- if the person had transited or otherwise been in a Covid-banned country within 2 weeks before attempting to enter the US

- if the home country has restrictions on its citizens leaving for tourist purposes

- if there are in the destination state within the US, any state-specific quarantine requirements for people traveling internationally or from certain places (example NY state requirements for travelers from certain countries)

So no general restrictions, but specifics of each case matter.

Is the list on travel ban countries on CDC? She intends to fly to Turkey and then to Washington DC.

It’s on the presidential proclamation on the White House website, among others.

Turkey is currently possible. However, with the numbers seeing a huge increase in many places, especially Europe and its neighboring areas, it is definitely possible that new restrictions are put in place at any moment. Such restrictions only allow parents of an LPR to visit if the LPR is a minor.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Thanks a lot for the info! Hopefully Turkey is not put on the list by then. Alternative is Qatar which I doubt will get affected much. I do not see it in the list for current ban.

DC area airports are in VA and MD. Is her final destination NC? You’d have to check all those for incoming restrictions such as any required quarantine.

The centralized page for banned countries (2 weeks before entry) is here https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/News/visas-news/presidential-proclamation-coronavirus.html

Yes, her final destination is NC. She will be able to easily quarantine for 2 weeks when we reach NC.

Just confirming that by “travel through” Turkey, yoi mean spend at least 14 days there?

No, we will travel through Istanbul airport as a transit. Our Route is TBS > IST > JFK (Layover in IST and staying in the transit zone)

On, sorry I’d thought this was from a schengen origin,  reading back I see it’s not. Yes on current restrictions that should be fine.

No worries and thanks for reaffirming. Traveling gives me anxiety and with Covid being a thing adds to it. Looks like I have all I need.

Came back with my mother. No issues on her entry at all. PCR was checked before boarding the plane to JFK.
