Hey Everyone, 

 

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for getting past the USCIS Robot Lady who answers the phone? Im trying to contact them because my case status is way past the normal processing time and they haven't answered the case inquiry I filed online. No matter what I say the robot won't pass me on to an agent and it is beyond frustrating. 

 

Any help would be amazing.

2) cyborg will say blah blah blah

3) say " case status"

4) enter case number

5) cyborg will say blah blah

6) say "representative"

7) robot will say - estimate wait time 864 minutes

8 . would you like to hold ?  yes

hang on 864 minutes to speak to a robot

I've tried calling several times, then I found this. I tries this exact order. I give my receipt number, robot asks if that is correct, I say yes, then give me the status of the that receipt number, then asks for another receipt number. I've tried two different things here. When the robot asks if it is correct, I say representative.  The robot says they know I want to speak to a representative, but first they need to know if it is correct. Either way, the next part clarifies the status and asks if I have another receipt number. Our issue is my wife has already received her combo work/travel card a couple months ago, and we have been waiting since late August (which was her biometric appt.) for the appointment date for the greencard. Well last week we received an appt letter for the travel card. And of course, the robot is of no help.

I think that's how it used to work in the past, it worked for me in February-March 2020 too, but not anymore. You simply cannot say work "representative" to the robot - it's like a red flag, it just hangs up. I have the same experience as the author of the thread. Here are some other reactions from VJ:

 

"They made significant "improvement" in their customer service to make the callers frustrated and not call USCIS. They now are providing excellent customer service of not taking calls. 100% customer satisfaction levels according to their survey"

 

"I had the same experience. I called six consecutive times and tried different phrases, including I don’t want to talk to you b****!!! 😂 Finally, I got in touch with a representative and the wait time was only 9 min. I guess more people get so annoyed and just give up!"

 

I used to also use their Emma chat for simple questions. When I typed in "Talk to representative" it would always let me chat to a real person, but I'm hitting a brick wall, it does not let me through and just keeps sending me stupid information about how useful their site and online account are.
