EAD renewal while waiting for interview

hey guys. I'm on F1 going through the GC by marriage process via AOS currently "waiting for the interview" stage. My EAD expires January 2021.
Should i try to renew it right now or wait for my interview to be scheduled first? It's been exactly a year since i submitted my app.
How long does the EAD renewing processing take?
Is there any charge for this? What's the process.
Thanks in advance!

you should renew your EAD right now, it took about 3 months the fastest from the moment u renew until u got ur new EAD

on the website it said u can renew starting 6 months before the expiration date

i think its better to do that because you wont know when you will get your interview date....IMHO

Once you timely + properly file the renewal paperwork, your existing EAD is extended by 180 days as well.

Read the I-765 instructions.

Submit a copy of the I-485's NOA1 in lieu of payment.

Just to make sure, you're talking about an EAD from your pending AOS (C09 Category) and not from OPT (C03 Category) right? If it's AOS, there's no fee for renewal since you didn't pay a fee for the initial one.

Yup EAD from AOS C09 category. I didn't have to pay initially but i heard they're trying to change that? I'll try to send my stuff in within the next couple of days to avoid a fee.

Even with that change, you filed AOS beforehand so no renewal fee still.
