Hi everyone I’m new, an applicant of K1 visa, my process has moved from nvc to embassy, do I wait on a letter from the embassy before setting the interview or do I go ahead and set the interview?

I also found out that on the visa fee site there is a dhs package in Jamaica my home town. How do I know when to collect it?

You won't get an interview until the embassy receives the petition from the NVC.  K-1 interviews have not been routinely happening due to COVID.

I actually went on the appointment site and there doing interviews currently. So that’s y I asked the question if I should book the interview or wait on some form of notification saying I have gotten the go ahead to book the interview.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood.   Your petition is at the embassy now?

Yes it is, my question is do they send a letter to say you should apply for an interview or do u just book the interview?

Okay, got it.  Generally, there is a 'packet 3' which the embassy sends before the interview.  It contains info about the medical, and instructions as to which documents to bring to the interview.  Ours was sent to the petitioner via email - it may be different for Jamaica.  @Greenbaum may have a copy of Jamaica's packet 3.

Have you had your medical yet?

I'd say that if you are able to book the interview, go ahead!

Best wishes, and let us know what you find out.

No I haven’t book the medical as yet, because I’m not sure if I should or wait until they notify me. The nvc has changed to ready and I got email saying it was sent to embassy. We haven’t paid visa fee because we were waiting for the letter to say we can book the interview (if there going to be one) , but multiple YouTube videos say we won’t receive a letter so I’m confused really that’s y I asked. Thank you for your respond.

Here's everything you'll need.

Financial

For JA they accept as proof of income only the following items:

Tax transcript for the past three years

Copies of W-2's for the past three years

Letter from your employer

Six months of Payroll Check stubs

Also, you should be a part of the conversation for your region here on VJ. Go to the blue ribbon above, select "forums" then scroll about 3/4 of the page down and select the region that most represents where your country is located.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Thank you so much really appreciate it. I saw the packet @greenbaum placed and indeed grateful. I have already done most of the things and awaiting this email or packet from the embassy. However the proof of finances from my job letter what should it entail?

We didn't submit a job letter and they didn't ask for one just three years of w2s and tax transcripts. We had 6 months of paystubs ready but they did not take this.

But a job letter would be from your hr department with an official stamp saying u work there and make this amount and perhaps how long you've been there.

Every case is different tho but our experience

The information I provided about financials is from others who have gone before you. Some CO's at the interviews will ask for different items to reach a decision on your financial stability. It's your responsibility to prove to them without a doubt that you are financially sound. Without a document you may face a delay with receiving a 221(g) Request for Evidence (RFE) at the end of the interview.

For the employment letter:
