We had a wonderful Honeymoon in Italy. Venice, Rome and then a spa in Tuscany (with a beach!!) Best of all worlds. We went end of August, beginning of September, so the weather was fantastic as well.

My vote is definitely for Italy. And because we were on our Honeymoon, each hotel made an extra special effort towards us with little gifts and treats.

Italy is more romantic than Paris in my opinion.....

Honeymoon?

Wowzers.. We couldn't afford a honeymoon with the VISA/AOS fees, the move, moving apts when we got here.. Too much money leaving.. We went to New Haven and saw the Yale campus.. does that count?

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

We went to Maui, but were considering US Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, or Florida Keys. USVI and PR would have been fine with a K1 because they're US territories. I wouldn't have minded the Carribean, but loved Hawaii. All except for the flight...Philly to Chicago, Chicago to Maui. You can only watch HAppy Feet so many times and even then it was a bad movie.

Bee's generous aunt has offered to send us to Paris once we have our formal ceremony in a couple of years. Enough time to wait for AP and save up for the wedding, I say! I would love to take a detour to Tuscany or Florence as well.

The US Virgin Islands is a good idea though!

Nini - Vancouver BC, Canada (she's the one who does the forum thing)

Bee - Devon PA, USA (he's the one who gave her the shiny ring)

Getting our sanity tested by bureaucracy since 2007.

Here we go again...

Well I'm from France, so we plan to visit family at some point but not for a honeymoon. We're thinking of New Zealand and making a stop in Hawaii to visit his mom.

If you do go to France, september is a good time because it's still warm, yet all the kids are back in school so you avoid the mass of tourists.

The Atlantic Ocean side is interesting if you like surfing, empty beaches (the ones without the swimming guards) and big waves. The "Pays Basque" is interesting and colorful, with a culture very different (not to say fiercely independant) to the rest of the south. Biarritz among other things. Bordeaux isn't too far and it always offers the possibility of visiting a Chateau and testing wine.

On your way towards the south-east you can stop in Toulouse for the brick buildings, Place du Capitole, several churches (Les Jacobins), cathedrals and a basilica (St Etienne). Do visit the city of Carcasonne, it's a walled city and really worth it. It's probably one of the only city of this size with the medieval walls still up that you can find in France.

The mediteranean sea has much calmer waves than the atlantic ocean, but there are a lot more big cities around (Marseille, Toulon, etc).

I would suggest going to Barcelona in Spain, it's an incredible city with gorgeous architecture and there are great beaches all along the golf (costa Brava and others), my grandparents used to have an appartment next to Rosas, the water is great and you can visit to museum of Dali (surrealist painter).

If you need any tips on France don't hesitate to PM me (add to it that I have a degree in tourism  )

Note: the good thing with the European community is that once you're in, you can visit about 25 countries without having to bother with the borders :)

eta: In case that's not clear, I'm drooling in a good way. :P That trip sounds fabulous.

I know!

I talked to my fiance about this and all the suggestions everyone offered about us still going to europe but spending a day or two by the water so I can still get my sand on =)

He makes fun of me (re: my visajourney obsession but is happy that it makes me happy =)
