How many i-864 do we need?

Me (F1 student) and fiance (LPR) are getting married this week. We are planning on filing next week and are currently filling out forms and joining bank accounts, etc.

While filling form i-864 we got confused because she (last year made 14k) can`t be the only sponsor, we are moving in together at her parents house and counting me the household consists of 5 people, that`ll be around 38k with the 125% applied. Her step father said he could be a sponsor (he made 55k last year). So, do I put her step father as the only sponsor or is the primary sponsor my fiance and her step father the only joint sponsor? In this latter case, how many i-864 forms should we fill? i-864a?

Thank you

Your fiance is the primary sponsor....She will have to submit an I-864 for herself.  You FIL will be a joint sponsor.  CURRENT income is king.  Income from last year is used only to help the Immigration Officer make a decision as to the whole financial picture.  It seems that you and your fiance need to do a lot of studying the process.  Perhaps she can join us here, too.

Living in the same house doesn't mean you're all in the same household.

Your spouse and you are a household of 2 (or more if there are kids).

Her stepfather will have a household of at least 3 (himself, his spouse, you) (or more if more dependents. Your wife shouldn't be included on her stepfather household.
