Help! I will transit thru Schengen but I need to catch another domestic flight within the US

I originally intended traveling thru Doha to avoid quarantine, but Qatar cancelled all flights untill the end of September from Romania.

I found an alternative route Romania-Germany-New York-Knoxville. I know I should be fine travelling through Schngen as a spouse of a US citizen, but will I be able to board my flight to Knoxville or do I have to quarantine in New York?

I would think as long as you are not leaving the airport you should be fine, but I am not familiar with the restrictions New York has put in place.  A friend of mine just came back from a Romania, but she flew through Paris direct to Detroit.  Personally, I would try and avoid NYC unless that was your final destination because they have the most restrictions in place.

Good Luck!

What kind of restrictions do they have if traveling from outside the Schengen area?
