Hi guys!

We are preparing our AOS package (currently here on an F1-visa but just recently got married to my hubby who's an American citizen, yay!) and I was wondering when I'm supposed to get a medical exam done? We talked to an immigration lawyer who said I need to get the medical exam done prior to filing the package. I was always under the impression that the medical exam is to be done closer to the interview date? Would love to hear other peoples experiences!

Thanks!

you can submit the I-693 along with I-485 but not mandatory. You can wait for the interview or RFE and than go do the I-693.  Totally your choice

31-Jan-2020 : I-485 Filed

17-Feb-2020: I-765/I-131 Filed

24-May-2020: I-765/I-131 approved

31-May-2020: EAD/AP Combo Card received

05-Oct-2020: Biometrics Scheduled

20-Oct-2020: Biometrics Complete

XX-XXX-202X: Approval Pending

Yep, you can do the medical exam later, in it's even advisable since they are having delays with COVID-19. You do not want to pay twice if the first medical exam expires at the time of the interview.

You'll receive a courtesy letter explaining this option. I did not submit my medical exam with the original package and I received this letter last week (I'm also adjusting from a F-1 visa so congratulations!)

Good luck
