I don't know much about the legal stuff regarding Cuba, but I think it's fairly difficult for them to leave their country due to that legal business, that's why they get approved so quickly. Yes, they were approved in 2 weeks, but I don't think they will be here for quite some time. I am too lazy, otherwise I would do some research on Cuba timelines on VJ! I don't know if that makes anymore sense!! Anyone else know?!

I wouldn't leave like that. You need to be able to prove to the Government that you can support her if you ever want her to come live here. I understand the frustration and hopelessness you feel. I also get very upset when I consider how we get treated by our Government in this process while other visa types get priority over ours. All we can do is what many in this thread have done and that is write elected officials and media outlets...other than that, we wait until they get around to us. Good luck that it will be sooner, rather than later.

I read this thread constantly and just wanted to say a few things. Mirla, you need to be getting approved soon! You are so positive you truly deserve it and you keep up the positive vibe on the thread, it's really awesome. referring to your red sox vs rockies comment, I hope you were going for the Red Sox!! And Byron, when I saw that post about your RFE, I literally said "####### THAT SUCKS" out loud to myself. I'm really sorry that happened to you, but just know that I always come on here hoping to see you and Mirla approved (as well as everyone else too!)

Also, in regards to the Cuba petitions speeding through, I was reading somewhere, I think a thread on this website....they get approved so quickly because I guess it takes a really long time for them to apply within Cuba for them to actually leave the country. Has anyone else read this also? I think that is the case but I am not 100%.

I asked regarding Cuba on a previous thread. Someone pointed out that a couple ppl from cuba got approved and came over in a few months. Who knows!

Don't even think of doing that! We all have been waiting (some for longer and some for shorter) and its painful for all of us regardless of the length of waiting. If you quit, you will be accepting defeat, which we all will feel (at least I know I will). We are already stressed out souls and need to stick through this as a group.

Plan something completly indulgent.... so indulgent that you would have not done it under normal circumstances. I am planning the most outrageous honeymoon.... far beyond my means.

Other things: Write to your senator/lou dobbs at CNN etc.

Have her apply for a tourist visa and chance it.

You just CANNOT quit! We are all here to support you.

And finally repeat to yourself, "This too shall pass."
