US Embassy Islamabad Reopening

Hello,

Is there any update regarding the reopening of US consulate in Islamabad? Have they started conducting interviews for IV? 
I have a travel history for US, in fact I was there for 3 years before I had to move back. If I apply for an emergency appointment on the grounds of emotional hardship would that work in my favor?

I’ve heard they’ve started issuing visas, not sure about immigration visa. I’ve contacted the embassy and haven’t really gotten a response have a feeling they are backed up, spouse has been in AP for a year now

Hi Omer, what’s your visa category and where did you hear from that they have started issuing visas? Are you a US citizen?

They are going to be making announcements hopefully next week. Islamabad embassy is calling back additional employees as of Monday, July 6th, 2020, I have a sister-in-law who works there. Do not know when the interviews will start again, but I would expect scheduling will sometime this month as well.
