USCIS seems to be backlogged right now. If you can't get an info pass, I'd suggest liaise with your employer when they ask you about it. Explain that you already communicated this and just waiting for USCIS response. Any sane person will understand.

Otherwise, if employer hasn't asked you about it, don't go disclosing because you'll end up adding yourself more stress. Use the time to try and get it from USCIS. However, should your employer ask and USCIS hasn't sent it yet, then explain and reach an agreement.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Do you work for a government agency? There really is no reason your employer should be asking for your green card while you are already hired or should be re-verifying your green card once you are past the initial hiring and I-9 process.

I did misread your post and thought it said your employer is asking. It's just so many people use that as an excuse and it's not true. So my apologizes for misreading. From USICS: Reverification is also never required when the following documents expire: U.S. passports, U.S. passport cards, Form I-551 (Alien Registration Receipt Cards/Permanent Resident Cards, which are also known as Green Cards), and List B documents. https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/51-reverifying-employment-authorization-current-employees

Keep contacting USCIS and a positive is that Application Support Centers (where you would get a stamp) are slowly opening. https://egov.uscis.gov/office-locator/#/asc

as others have pointed out, just the card is expiring, it just means that your proof is expiring not your valid PR status. Unlike a EAD card which you have to keep verifying on an I-9, for a green card (irrespective of 10 year or 2 year conditional) the employer does NOT need to see it ever again (example) when employers do E-verify online it does not even give an expiry date option when u select green card for employee verification, so what your employer is doing is technically not right (illegal ? maybe).

You must tell them to check your status through E-Verify and it should show that you are legally allowed to work.

Meanwhile, keep following up for NOA and ensure your address is correct.
