Question under Military section of N-400 form

Hello everyone, 

 

Wanted to check with you all how you answered this question on the N-400- 'If the law requires it, are you willing to bear arms on behalf of the United States?'

My understanding is that you can answer no if you have a bona fide religious or moral objection (that would have to be an absolute on not bearing arms, not just for the case of the US) and that the oath can be modified in such a case. As the rest of the questions/oath shows, there are other ways you can serve.
