Confused about for i-864, please help :)

I need help, please! I am already living in the US, F-1 visa. I am currently in the process of adjusting my status to permanent resident. My wife (US citizen) and I (green card applicant) got married after I filed my taxes, we did not file together. Her dad claimed her on his taxes so she didn’t file her own taxes. How does she complete form i-864 (affadavit of financial support) if she had no income last year (she was in grad school). 

 

Does she fill out the form with no income and then use her dad as a joint/co sponsor?

Thanks a lot for that!! Another question, even though I am not sponsoring myself, should I list my last year's salary even though my EAD is expiring soon and I'll no longer be working? Reason for asking is because I read that "The intending immigrant may list his/her salary but the income must continue from the same source after obtaining lawful permanent resident status in the US and must reside in the same residence as the sponsor."

 

I'm aware that I cannot sponsor myself even though I make more than 125% of the povery guideline and was wondering how I go about listing my salary.

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
