Hi everyone!

 

My husband is in the process of filing his AOS this week. We read a lot about the denied and return applications due to the expired form. USCIS has the I-485 late version that expires 10/31/2020 on their site. Does anyone know where we can obtain the new form that expires 10/31/2021?

 

We appreciate your help!

The form on the USCIS site is the latest form.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

That is the latest form and as long as you file it before the expiration date then you will be fine

USCIS forms do not expire, at least for the general public purposes. That expiration date is the OMB expiration date for review. It only impacts the OMB.

 

USCIS accepts a form or not based on the Edition Date. The USCIS website lists the currently accepted edition dates. The Edition Date is located on the lower left corner of the forms.

USCIS can stop accepted a particular edition date before or after the OMB expiration date.

10/24/18: Green card produced notice, 10/25/18: Formal approval, 10/31/18: Green card received

OMB expiration date is meaningless.   Bottom left corner,  Edition Date is what you pay attention to 

YMMV
