Hi everyone i have 2 queations

1- what is the difference with federal income tax and transcript from irs? 

 

2- in uploading documents in nvc do they still need income tax return with AGI ( adjusted gross income) ? 

i have 1040 form federal income tax only

1.  The federal tax return consists of the set of documents the tax PAYER prepares and sends to the IRS.  The tax transcript is a document created by the IRS which shows exactly what was received and processed by the IRS.  Transcripts must be obtained from the IRS either by mail or by downloading from the IRS web site.

 

The 1040 is part of a tax return.

 

2.  Transcript preferred.  But you can submit a 1040 and all supporting documents and schedules.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You have your real answer but "AGI" is only applicable if you file the 1040EZ.  Otherwise the number you need for the affidavit of support is the "Total Income".  Sometimes total and adjusted are the same number.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Is it ok if i upload federal income tax  3 years with w2 of 3 years too?
