Hello. IR1 case is here. I am in the stage of uploading documents on NVC website.

I have been living in Italy for 3 months a few years ago, and now the website says that Police certificate from Italy is missing.

According to the rules I have to provide with PCC only if I have lived in any other country that mine for more than 12 months.

Please advise whether you have had such an issue and how did you solve.

If I leave that part missing on the website, will the NVC officer consider that my documents are full and my case will be reviewed?

I was also thinking of providing a letter of explanation that based on their rules I am not obliged to provide a PCC from Italy. Do you think this will help?

Thank you.

@Paul & Mary  @pushbrk has already given you the right advise but in case your need more assurance this is what i did.

I was in your position couple of months ago. Due to my work situation, I temporarily lived in middle east for few months and CEAC website was saying police certificate missing from those countries. So my wife called NVC and explained the situation. They said if my stay was less than 12 months you can upload the letter explaining why police certificate is not required. So i uploaded the following letter. Just to be on safe side i also attached the scanned of the pages showing exit and entry dates. We got CC email in March and now waiting for our interview. Just make sure that applicant sign the letter before uploading and bring the same signed copy to interview as part of civil documents.

Here is the template i used.

To Whom it May Concern
Subject: Police Certificate from [XXXXXXXXXXXXXX]

As per the guidelines of NVC, the applicant must submit a photocopy of a police certificate from all countries he has lived for 12 months or more since the age of 16.

In 2010, I lived in Qatar for work for a period of 3 months (approximately) from January 2, 2010 to March 31, 2010. I have attached the biographic page of my old passport and relevant pages showing entry and exit stamps on my arrival and departure from Doha (Qatar) in 2010.

I returned to Qatar in 2014 for vacations. This time my stay in Qatar was for three days from December 25, 2014 to December 27, 2014.

My cumulative stay in Qatar since the age of 16 is 91 days approximately.

Therefore, I have not submitted a police certificate from Qatar
