I was just about to wire money to my husband for surgery and noticed a spot for a “Reference” in the Wire Transfer form to specify what the money is for . Me and my husband both know what the money is for, so I wasn’t going to put anything in the “reference” space, but I was wondering, would it be a good idea to do so in order to use a copy of the wire transfer for “proof of Bona-fide marriage” documentation? This may be completely irrelevant but just wanted to make sure.

Of course it will show my husbands name/address and my name/address either way.

Planning to file I-130 in July, so just want to make sure we have everything we need. We got married in June of 2019 on our first visit so I want to make sure we have quality evidence...

1. Pictures from our time together (We have tons of pics with my friends and family in the US, and with his family in Japan. Pics of our wedding day [not a wedding ceremony or anything like that, but we got dressed up and his family took us out for dinner and we all took silly pictures together with "Wedding day!" Balloons, flowers, etc. Also nice pics of just the 2 of us from that day]. Pics from Christmas, Birthdays, New Years, Valentines, Thanksgiving, zoo trips, beach trips...)

What would be a good number of pictures to send? I've heard 10 is enough. I also read a post on an immigration attorney's website saying if you don't send at least 20 photos, USCIS will wonder why you don't have that many photos together.)

2. Plane tickets from when we went to visit eachother. (I went there for 3 months, then he came here for 3 months.)

3. House deed in both our names... My concern about this document; the original deed was in my name because he was not here to sign the deed. I had my attorney do a quit claim deed to add my husband to the deed. On the space on the quit claim deed showing whose names are originally on the deed, and the space showing who the deed will be transferred to, BOTH of our names are in BOTH sections. I asked the attorney why, and he said because of the state laws in NC, as my spouse he would already be entitles to half of the house, therefore his name would have to be on the quit claim deed as one of the current owners. But in order to get a copy of the deed with his name on it, we had to do a quit claim deed to get his name on the deed anyway. Will this look strange to USCIS?

4. Wire transfer receipt (showing $510 I wired to him for surgery. It shows my full name, his full name and his address.)

5. Chats, skype call logs, and screenshots from videochat on skype (from November 2015 when we started talking, to present.)

6. pictures of a card I sent to him for his birthday in 2016

7. A shipping label from a package he sent me in 2016

8. A Christmas card from my mom, addressed to both me and my husband (from 2019... No postage so maybe this won't work?)

9. Picture of tickets from going iceskating together for Valentines day. (Maybe not neccessary?)

10.  A paid parking receipt from when I took him to the airport, corresponding with the time of his flight, showing I was there for 4 hours lol... Didn't know if this would mean anything to USCIS.

11. A congratulatory post on FaceBook from my best friend, for our wedding day.

Basically anything that shows you’re together is great. Pictures, social media posts from third parties like that congratulation post. It all helps. 5 pages with 4 pictures each is good, so 20ish pictures that show bona fide relationship. As to the deed, doesn’t sound like an issue.

I know a lot of people say these are not necessary, but the first 3+ years of our relationship was long distance, we got married in June of 2019 and have only spent 6 months total together in person, so I figured it might be a good idea to include a few call logs/emails etc. (of course I am including other evidence such as his name on the deed to our house, life insurance policy through my employer, etc. as well.)

Now my question, my husband's email address's/skype name/ID etc. does not contain his name, and his skype "nickname" is written in Japanese characters. Will this be a problem? What would be the best way to present these documents for the I-130 pack....

Some of the skype log screenshots also have screenshots from videochat included in the messages, so I'm not sure if that will be helpful...

At most, send examples.  If' you've spent six months together in person and have the other evidence mentioned, I would skip the communication evidence altogether.

Thank you so much. I was thinking some examples would be good just in case... do you think it would be ok to use them as examples even though it’s only a screen name or his old email address (from 3 years ago) but not current email we’ll be using for the petition, and doesn’t have his name in either the screen name or email address? Would these be completely useless?
