Hi Friends,

My mom is in the process of adjusting her status from B1 to GC. Last week, her doctor who is filling out her I-693 form, he asked her to get the flu shot, as he stated that it is required from Immigration Service.

Personally, I don't see it necessary since she is a healthy woman, and never she had it before.

I am wondering if there is anyway to avoid it without affecting her file negatively with USCIS.

Please advise!

Thank you in Advance!

USCIS does not care if you think that vaccine is not necessary, its part of the immigration law for adjustment of status. you are in the flu season till march 31st.  if you dont want than wait to file after march 31st

duh

I had a Flu shot in the UK not long ago. As it was not on my vaccination record I had to have another one as it was in flu season.

As the reply states, get the shot or wait 4 weeks. Rules are the rules.

Medical insurance may cover it if cost is the issue.
