You can file from anywhere.

Cr1 route does have much to offer.

I am wanting to find out if its possible to file for the k1 visa from Egypt or get the process started. I'm an American citizen staying in Egypt with my fiance.  We were trying to get married here but having troubles with paperwork and ready to give up and marry in the states.

Have you thought about getting married in another more compatible country ?

YMMV

I'm not sure how. Is that complicated?  The problem is that Egypt wants not only my final divorce decree but also a paper that says something about no appeal.  The state I'm from says that they either dont understand or dont have that so I'm unsure what to do.  Is it possible for him to visit the US and get married there without going through the k1 process?

Sure but he will require a b2 Visa.   What are his chances of approval?  50/50 or worse?

Hmm not sure.  Hes an Egyptian citizen, has applied for the visa immigration lottery, not sure what would get him denied. He has no criminal record.

Immigrant intent would be the most likely reason

Many Egyptians do visit the US, and many visitors get married in the US. But it does not need to be in the US, there may be more appropriate locations.

Hmm so I'm wondering, is it smarter to try and finish the marriage first and go spouse visa or try for the k1.  I'm new to all this and this site. I've been trying to read as much as I can but there's so much info and it looks complicated to me.  Do many people use lawyers to do this and is it worth the extra cost?  I'm just lost, frustrated, and feeling really overwhelmed. 😒

Very slim chance he would get a B2 visa.

You will want to thoroughly research the requirements and components for each visa.  There are financial sponsorship requirements, which have recently tightened.

If you are staying in Egypt, do you have a job in the US to provide income to sponsor an immigrant?

Most people DIY, obviously if you have complicated issues then a Lawyer may be beneficial and some people are not up to doing it or do not want to do it , if you use a Lawyer most it will be done by the Paralegal.

A personal choice.
